Launching Enablr
For the last several years, I've been encouraging my clients and friends to practice rapid prototyping, and evangelizing the just do it philosophy of entrepreneurship. Figuring it was time to put up or shut up, I started a new business (Enablr) about three weeks ago.
I was prodded into action by this post on Charlie O'Donnell's blog , and I had already been mulling over the idea of podcast transcription after reading this explanation of why Seth Godin doesn't do podcasting.
The site launched with two services: Transcribr, which provides text transcripts of podcasts, and Stenographr, which converts your letters from electronic format to hardcopy for your grannie's consumption. We've already mapped out a bunch of feature and service additions: check them out, add your own suggestions, and maybe even become a beta-tester.
We went live in 13 days from the point I decided to proceed, and got our first sale 6 days later. Frankly, I was disappointed that we didn't manage to go live in a week, but I guess 19 days to incoming cash flow is still pretty good.
For the time being, I will be cross-posting articles about Enablr both here and on the Enablr blog. Other members of the team will also be posting there, so if you're interested in following along as the business develops, please subscribe to the feed.
